Business or Pleasure
Business or Pleasure by Rachel Lynn Solomon
My rating: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
After the opening scene, I thought I was going to love this book, but it ended up falling flat for me. The dynamic between the main characters didn’t click for me, and I kept finding myself wanting the book to be over. I remember loving her first book, not so much her second, but I was hoping I would love this one.
It starts out as a one-night stand gone horribly wrong. She writes it off as bad sex, but then is surprised to find out the subject for her new writing project is none other than said hookup. They have to confront the awkwardness to be able to work together and write his book.
I did love the sex positivity in this book, and the fact that the “lessons” were coming from the female main character, rather than the male. It was also refreshing to read about a hook-up gone wrong, because too often in these books, everything is perfect. It was nice to read about a bad experience, and I was laughing through all of the awkwardness during that first scene. I think I just wanted more from this book, which was why I rated it only three stars.
